„… Am Übergang von der ersten zur zweiten Sektion, die sich dem Erfinden von Welt als Konstruktionsmethode widmet, steht die erste künstlerische Intervention von Sandra Schubert. Die Bildstrecke „Night Dive“ verarbeitet Fotografien aus dem Werkkomplex „Sammlung SEE“, einem künstlerischen Bildkatalog, der sich mit dem Meer als Projektionsfläche sowohl von Sehnsüchten als auch von Ängsten befasst. Die Fotografin setzt sich in ihrem Werk maßgeblich mit den visuellen und diskursiven Prägungen dieses Naturraumes auseinander. Gleichzeitig schärft sie mit ihrer komplexen Verzahnung von analogen und digitalen Techniken den Blick für die konstruktiven Voraussetzungen der Abbildung und fragt nach den Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Fotografie als Medium zur Repräsentation von Wirklichkeit. …“

„ … Sandra Schubert’s first artistic intervention marks the transition from the first to the second section, which is dedicated to the invention of the world as a method of construction. The “Night Dive” series uses photographs from the “Sammlung SEE”, an artistic catalogue of images that deals with the sea as a projection surface for both longings and fears. In her work, the photographer deals decisively with the visual and discursive imprints of this natural space. At the same time, with her complex interlocking of analogue and digital techniques, she sharpens the view of the constructive prerequisites of imagery and questions the possibilities and limits of photography as a medium for representing reality. …“

"The work NIGHT DIVE uses photographs and spatial installations to show the view of the sea as a dominated space. Models of marine animals are reminiscent of natural history museums, a South Sea beach turns out to be wallpaper. The restrained black-and-white photographs appear matter-of-fact and enigmatic, like an archive of somewhat uncanny memories. Sandra Schubert works in a variety of ways with collages and b/w baryta hand prints. She combines digital and analogue techniques in her work. Her calm and intense spatial installation invites us to reflect on the relationship between man, nature (science) and photography."
